MEP Engineer
Hotels and Resorts Investment – H. A. R. I. M. (HARIM) is hiring a MEP Engineer for the PMC Division. The MEP Engineer will contribute to the design, coordination, and execution of MEP systems across HARIM’s projects throughout the Maldives.

About the Role
This role is responsible for overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering functions from design through to project handover, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, local and international standards, and HARIM’s internal QA/QC, HSSE, and integrity frameworks.
The MEP Engineer will work closely with the PMC, design consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and technically sound delivery of all MEP works within HARIM’s hospitality and infrastructure portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all MEP engineering activities from concept design to as-built stage, ensuring alignment with project specifications and HARIM standards.
Coordinate with internal engineering, architectural, and civil teams as well as external consultants and subcontractors.
Review and approve MEP design packages in accordance with client and project requirements.
Prepare and review Design Intent Documents (DID) and Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
Submit completed design packages for compliance audits and ensure all design changes follow HARIM’s design-change management process.
Attend design reviews, technical coordination, and hazard-review meetings as required.
Review and certify supplier design packages and ensure technical compliance with project standards.
Review designs for HVAC, ventilation, fire strategy, AC & DC distribution systems, battery and charger sizing, voltage-drop, cable sizing, signal and interface lists, and related calculations.
Coordinate with suppliers, verify deliverables, and ensure interface compatibility between remote systems.
Support the site team during construction, ensuring design intent and specifications are correctly implemented.
Serve as the main point of contact for all technical queries related to MEP design and ensure timely and accurate clarifications.
Provide technical solutions and support to the site team for ongoing MEP works.
Review supplier and subcontractor deliverables and factory acceptance test plans.
Prepare technical clarifications, and deviations where necessary.
Support tendering processes with technical input, and specification reviews.
Ensure design compliance with the Maldives’ regulatory requirements and international best practices for high-end hospitality and marine infrastructure projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in MEP engineering for large-scale resort, hotel, or mixed-use development projects.
Demonstrated expertise in building services engineering, including AC/DC systems, HVAC, power distribution, fire safety, plumbing, and drainage systems.
Proven experience in project coordination, supplier management, and construction-stage technical supervision.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and MS Projects, P6 and other contemporary software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Familiarity with international MEP codes and standards.
Results-driven team player with a proactive and collaborative approach.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment and manage multiple project interfaces concurrently.
